                                                                   Interview
By: Javier Cervantes
We first asked Ms.McMillan a few questions regarding the field trip she went on with a lot of 8th graders. The questions were:
·       Was Great America fun?
·       What were the rides you went on?
·       What was your favorite ride?
·       Did you and the 8th graders walk around a lot?
·       What did you and your class end up eating for lunch?
·       What time did you come back after the field trip?
·       And last but not least, did the 8th graders give you any trouble?

This is the class were we do the most hands on work. Next, Ms. Garcia is very nice about talking when working. Over all, Ms. Garcia's class is another great classroom.

S.S Room Review

S.S Room Review
By: Andy Schultheis
This week we are doing something different. We are going to review a classroom. Not just any classroom, Mr. Heerdegens classroom. He teaches social studies and Globaloria. His classroom  is one of my favorites. He uses lots of movies to tell us about gods and myths. He is a very entertaining teacher. Over all I would give his class 4 out of 5 stars. Thanks for reading.

End of The Year Activities By Ricardo Dime

By: Ricardo Dime
So the school year in Herman is coming to a close and there are activities for students! But some students are losing their activities. The activities are the talent show, Patriot Games, and the dance! As said earlier people are losing these activities so if they get a specific number of suspensions, detentions, or tardiness, or you will not be able to go to the talent show, Patriot Games, or The Dance. So basically Herman is really expecting a lot from you in the end of the year so you can have a great end of the year instead of being in a room in detention when everybody is having fun.

5th and 6th Grade Dance

                            5th and 6th Grade Dance
                                   By Kiara Dempsey

This year there is going to be a dance for the 5th and 6th graders.  This dance is given to these two grades earned this dance from hard working and communication. This is held in the middle of the school day. Today I asked Jillian Kreifels what she liked about the dance last year; she said in response that it was kind of lame because it was in the middle of school and here were not that many people there. She also did not like how they had games there and played half of the song when you get in to the song and start dancing to it. Javier also added on that he did not like it because we had to drink from  the water outside and they didn’t have any juice to drink like the 7th   and 8th grade dances.

BULLYING ASSEMBLY!

By; Ricardo Dime
On May 1st the Bullying Assembly was held for the 6th & 7th graders. They showed them a video named; "Let's Get Real." The video showed the victims and the bullies’ point of view about bullying. There were some harsh and bad language but the 6th & 7th graders had to be mature of that. The video was basically teaching us why bullies are being picking on kids and how they are affecting students. They also taught us the different types of bullying such as; Gossip, Physical, Verbal, and etc. Their point and Ms. Sims said this is that bullying cannot be tolerated and needs to be stopped.

This week we interviewed the new teacher, Mr. Heerdegen. He took over for Mrs.Dorsey a teacher who went on maternity leave to take care of her new baby Leela. Mr. Heerdegen is a student teacher taking over classes to get his teaching credentials, becuase of this we decided to ask him a couple of questions on how he is going to teach the classes. The first question that we asked is do you like having your own class room? He replied, "Yes because I have no one telling me what to do and I can teach the class how I prefer to teach it." Secondly, we asked if kids are acting different? In response he said "Everyone is basically acting the same, loud students are still being loud." Next, we asked if he is going to change the class? He replied "We are going to read more in class, so we have no reading logs." We also asked him if he as going to be strict? he replied '' Yes, I will be strict but not too strict." Mr. Heerdegen is staying for the rest of the year to teach the classes and help engage students and design curriculum. We look forward to seeing what he has in store for us!
